Recording Sheets are used to export dialogue lines for voice recording sessions, track recording progress, and re-import recording updates back into Frostune:VO.
They are designed for voice production workflows where lines need to move through recording, rewrite, and delivery states.
Open the VO Manager.
Create a list of lines in the Results area using filters such as:
TEXT_NEEDEDSelect the lines you want to export using the checkboxes on the left of the Results list.
Before exporting, lines should have the correct Line Status.
Lines must usually be set to:
to-record
or:
to-retake
to be exported as Recordable lines.
Recordable lines allow the recording team to:
Y in the Recorded columnN in the Recorded columnThese changes can be applied when the Recording Sheet is imported back into Frostune:VO.
To change Line Statuses in bulk:
Lines with other statuses, such as:
none
to-rewrite
recorded
may be exported as reference lines and may appear greyed out in the Recording Sheet.
Additional reference lines may also appear when they share the same scene as recordable lines, even if they were not part of the original search query.
Recording XLSX
in the VO Manager Results section.
If no lines are selected, Frostune:VO may ask whether you want to export all currently eligible lines.
Choose export options:
Confirm the export.
Frostune:VO may confirm how many lines will move to:
out-for-recording
If the Recording Sheet is intended for temporary recordings, include _temp or _tmp in the filename.
Example:
MyProject_Session01_temp.xlsx
When this file is imported back, lines marked as recorded will receive a temporary waiting Wav Status:
waiting-temp-recorded
If the filename does not indicate temporary recording, Frostune:VO treats the sheet as a final recording sheet by default:
waiting-final-recorded
If a row includes a WavName or filename containing temp, tmp, or final, Frostune:VO may also use that row-level filename to infer the correct Wav Status.
Open the Recording Sheet in Excel or another compatible spreadsheet editor.
For recordable lines:
Enter:
Y
or:
y
in the Recorded column.
When imported, this changes the line status to:
recorded
and sets the Wav Status to one of:
waiting-final-recorded
waiting-temp-recorded
depending on the sheet/file naming.
Enter:
N
or:
n
in the Recorded column.
When imported, Frostune:VO returns the line to an appropriate recording status, usually:
to-record
or, when applicable:
to-retake
If the Recorded column is left empty, the line is left unchanged.
For example, a line already set to:
out-for-recording
will stay out for recording.
If the recorded performance differs from the original line, enter the updated text in the Rewrite column.
When imported, Frostune:VO can update the line text with the rewrite.
This is useful for:

Before applying the import, Frostune:VO shows a short confirmation window.
Example:
Recording Sheet — Import preview
File: MyProject_Session01_temp.xlsx
Summary
Matched rows: 24
Text updates detected: 2
Recorded=Y: 18
Rewrite flags: 1
Recorded=N → To Record: 3
Skipped rows: 1 (Missing required fields: 1)
A detailed TXT report will be saved after you apply the import.
The popup is intentionally short so large imports remain readable.
For larger imports, skipped rows, duplicate references, or troubleshooting cases, Frostune:VO saves a detailed TXT import report.
The report may include:
Use this report to verify what happened during the import.
If the Rewrite column changes the text of a locked line, Frostune:VO will ask for confirmation.
You can choose to:
This protects locked production text while still allowing controlled recording-session corrections.
