Frostune:VO supports several import workflows, each designed for a specific production stage.
Choosing the right import method helps avoid duplicate lines, accidental structure changes, and unsafe overwrites.
Use this when:
You sent a Recording Sheet generated by Frostune:VO to actors, a studio, or a VO production partner, and you are importing it back.
Purpose:
Update recording progress, rewrite flags, and optionally revised line text.
Line IDFilename / WavNameScene Tag + IndexRecorded = Y → sets the line status to RecordedRecorded = N → sends the line back to To RecordRewrite / Retake → sets the line status to To RewriteLine (WRITE HERE) / rewrite text fieldsAt least one matching reference should be present:
Line ID (recommended)Filename / WavNameScene Tag + IndexRecordedRewrite / RetakeLine (WRITE HERE)SpeakerNotesUse this when:
You want to import a Frostune Worksheet containing dialogue text, scene information, action text, notes, or new lines/scenes.
This replaces the previous separate Worksheet, Worksheet Merge/Add, and External Sheet workflows.
Purpose:
Use one worksheet import flow to update existing lines and, when editing the source language, merge/add new project structure safely.
When the project is being edited in the source language — usually English — Worksheet Import can:
Folder PathWhen the project is being edited in a localized language, such as French, Spanish, German, Italian, or Portuguese, Worksheet Import becomes update-only.
In localized languages, it can:
In localized languages, it cannot create:
This keeps English/source content as the master structure for the project.
For the source-language import, the worksheet must include these columns:
SceneScene TagFolder PathSpeaker / CharacterLine (WRITE HERE)These requirements prevent accidental imports into (Unfiled) or generic Imported scenes.
Dialogue rows require:
SceneScene TagFolder PathSpeakerLine (WRITE HERE)Scene-action-only rows are allowed, but they still require:
SceneScene TagFolder PathScene Action / Scene DescriptionRows missing required information are skipped and listed in the TXT report.
Recommended Frostune Worksheet columns:
SceneScene TagFolder PathScene ActionSpeakerLine (WRITE HERE)Line ActionWavName / FilenameString ID / Line IDNotes| Column | Purpose |

String ID / Line ID |

Imports line notes / parentheticals. |
Worksheet Import attempts to match existing lines using:
Line ID / String IDFilename / WavNameFolder Path + Scene Tag + IndexFolder Path + Scene Tag + Index + SpeakerFolder Path + Scene Tag + Speaker + line textIf no match is found and the import is running in the source language, the row can be added as new content if it passes the required-column rules.

You receive recorded WAV files from actors, studios, or external recording sessions.
Purpose:
Attach finished or temporary audio files to existing dialogue lines.

Most import workflows show a confirmation popup before applying changes.
The popup shows a short summary, such as:
For larger imports or imports with skipped rows, Frostune:VO saves a detailed TXT report. The report can include:
This keeps the confirmation popup readable while preserving detailed production logs.
